We are looking for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience who has obtained an Engineer-In-Training certification and will be able to earn Professional Engineer licensure. Qualified candidates will have experience with water/waste water engineering including design and construction of wastewater collection and conveyance systems, water distribution systems, wastewater treatment systems, and sewage facilities planning. Experience working with municipal government, facilities operations and maintenance personnel, and regulatory agencies is a plus. The successful candidate must have strong technical, organization and communication skills.

Civil Staff Engineer:

Job Description: Assist Senior Engineer with design work involving all aspects of civil engineering earthwork projects. Work elements may involve some or all of the following: Civil 3D drafting, analysis, design, report preparation on mining, water resource, renewable energy, and hydropower projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the planning and designing of earthwork projects and building structures following standard procedures. Typical projects will include waste rock facilities, heaping leach facilities, tailings storage facilities and their ancillary works. Produce civil/geotechnical analyses, preparation of proposals, bid documents and capital cost estimates, construction drawings and design reports. Participate in geotechnical field investigations and or construction QA/QC. Be actively involved in assisting with permitting, reclamation and closure activities and design work. Prepare civil layout using computer-based modeling software. Keep management advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Qualifications: Technical Ability: Strong working knowledge of, and experience in civil engineering and geotechnical principles and mythologies. Education/Experience: Minimum of a Bachelors degree (B.S.) in civil engineering and 4-7 years of experience designing on earthwork projects. Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of Civil 3D, GEO-Slope programs, GINT, and other latest geotechnical design software would be an asset. Certificates and Licenses: Registration or eligibility, with the requisite experience, to be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is preferred. A valid drivers license is preferred. Work Environment: Work will be in both an office and field environment with travel to various outdoor sites determined by project needs. Geotechnical Project Engineer:

Job Description: The successful job applicant will be part of a dynamic geotechnical engineering team and will direct and review the integration of technical activities and products related to geotechnical work, including planning and participating in geotechnical site investigation/laboratory testing programs and results interpretation, geotechnical analysis, detail design, technical support during construction, reporting, and communications. Projects may include water dams, tailing dams, heap leach pads, mine waste rock dumps, heavily-loaded structural foundations, and other earthworks, mining, and renewable energy facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned: Intimately understand and be able to work effectively in the field of geotechnical engineering. Direct field work programs associated with geotechnical site investigations. Interpret in-situ data from geotechnical site investigations and analyze data from laboratory testing to determine type, classification and geotechnical engineering characteristics of soils. Utilize the above information or information provided by others, perform geotechnical analysis and designs of, or make recommendations for, project components including excavations, dams, foundations, fluid or mine waste impoundments, spillways, pipeline or penstock anchorages. Develop or lead the development of clear and concise letters or reports to present the complete work to clients or others. Provide technical review of study reports, drawings and technical specifications. Review project information including source criteria, scope of work, procedures and requirements, diagrams and drawings, specifications and other client-produced documents, to determine the approach and work to be undertaken, budgeted, scheduled and implemented. This requires working with a single engineering or scientific discipline or multiple disciplines. Mentor and develop less experienced staff in completing work tasks that meet both client and internal quality/efficiency expectations. Lead and demonstrate through responsible project management leadership. Emphasize teamwork and look for continuous improvement in all individual task and project work. Become the client liaison in all matters related to the project or the undertaking. Develop working relationships with the client representatives and staff. Investigate, assess and assist in securing assignments in the mining, water resources and hydropower sectors. Provide knowledgeable contributions to the companys overall marketing strategy. Education/Experience: Minimum of a Masters degree (M.Sc.) in civil engineering with a specialization in geotechnical engineering; 6-10 years of experience, and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.).
