Job Description: We are looking for a talented and energetic Junior Lighting Application Engineer to join our dedicated team in our Mississauga, Ontario facility. Job Description: This position is an integral part of the Sales Department. The main role of the Junior Lighting Application Engineer includes assisting the Senior Lighting Application team and the Sales Team, with project designs, CAD drawing interpretation, Light Rendering calculations, Bill of Material creation and preparation and completion of riser details for customers. Responsibilities: Understand design philosophy, structure, and organization of the companys products. Assist in the sales process by offering technical expertise on applications, light fixtures, controls, power supplies and other electrical, optical, and mechanical matters. Assist sales in communication with Architects, GC, EC, EE, Lighting Designers, Distributors and rep Agencies. Maintain a productive and collaborative relationship between sales applications and deployment to ensure a seamless transition for the customer. Provide a positive impression of the company and our product offering as well as being able to set proper expectations and communicate technical information accurately. Evaluate customer requirements with regards to the companys product offering to layout and design the lighting plan and electrical requirements for preparation of BOM. Create project specific lighting layouts, 3D light renderings and electrical plan designs and creation of a detailed BOM and submission to the customer. Produce project specific drawings, light renderings and documents as needed by sales and customers. Work with Engineering and manufacturing to develop, evaluate and improve products and processes for the benefit of the company and its customers. Resolve customer complaints and establish corrective action plan. Such further and other duties as may be necessary and/or desirable to effectively carry out the aforementioned duties and responsibilities. Desired Skills & Experience: Strong TEAM player. Have strong aptitude for engineering. High level of integrity and passion for lighting design. Professional Engineer or CET preferred. Comfortable in a fast paced, electronic technology and engineering based environment. Proven ability to prioritize workflow, multi task and be detail oriented. Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive. Strong PC skills including AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge/ Experience on AGi32/Dialux. Ability to communicate effectively, strong written and oral skills. Able to read and create concise and clear lighting layouts and riser diagrams. Experience with sales is a benefit. Education Requirements: Bachelor degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Technology Diploma. Design related courses (Interior Design, Lighting Design, Architecture) optional. Additional Information: An organizational profiling on-line test will be conducted prior to hiring. Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Relocation: No relocations. Must be able to work in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Piping Designer:

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering  
Location: Saint Johns/ NL / Canada

Job Description: The company is currently seeking a Piping Designer for a 3 month contract position. The primary duties of the Piping Designer will include: Conceptualize plans, details, and sections to accurately convey construction or fabrication requirements. Prepare and develop 2D and/or 3D designs under the supervision of the Lead Piping Engineer. Responsible for checking and back checking computer models and piping drawings. Ensure compliance and approved design standards, to provide quality design. Prepare Bill of materials. Communicate and interface with other engineering disciplines. Requirements: Proficient in current release of AutoCAD and/ or Microstation. Minimum of 5 years of piping design experience in heavy industrial environmental and/or oil and gas. Experience using CADWorx 3D, Intergraph Smartplant 3D or PDMS would be an asset. Knowledge of industry/ regulatory codes and standards. Must be familiar with piping specifications, Isometric and GA Production and general piping design. Able to conceptualize and draw design details independently. Ability to interpret P&IDs. Knowledge of pipe support requirements.

Mechanical Engineer Team Lead/Senior Designer:

We are currently looking for an experienced designer to provide both innovative and cost-effective mechanical designs while also providing leadership to our current team of technologists. The Challenge: Leading and mentoring the current team of mechanical technologists. Managing end-to-end mechanical engineering projects of varying size and scope. Ownership of mechanical product designs from concept through production and to end of life. Developing manufacturing assembly procedures and helping in failure investigations. Creation, review and updating of engineering documentation. Developing and managing the mechanical environmental testing. Leading the mechanical design reviews and owning the final mechanical deliverables. Working across multiple functional teams to ensure the most effective project outcome. Understanding, generating and delivering on the complete mechanical requirements for commercially available products. Qualifications: Bachelor or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Primary mechanical engineer for a commercially available product(s). Worked on multiple products through the entire product lifecycle. Proven record of designing products for outdoor, rugged use. Experience in designing and testing marine and submersible products. Strong 3D CAD skills (Pro/E currently used). Experience with environmental testing standards and methodology (e.g. SAE J1455, MIL-STD-810, IEC 60529). Experience using product life-cycle management (PLM) software. Hands on mechanical aptitude and the ability to problem solve creatively. Strong attention to detail. Preference will be given to candidates with past experience leading a small team working in a high performance environment.
